This marks the 3rd blog post in 2 days, which is a record for us and means we've got lots of good stuff for you! Today we're releasing version 0.6.1 of Socialbrowse. While this version doesn't offer any dramatic new features, you'll find many usability improvements that will make Socialbrowse even easier to use. Note: If you don't want to wait for Firefox, you can grab the new version directly here.
* You can now conveniently toggle the settings for embedded icons and message popups from the browser's status bar. Just click the left icon to turn off the embedded icons, and the right button to turn off message popups (for when the sidebar is closed). These options are now removed from the Tools menu.
* Recently we provided a setting to let you open feed items in a new tab. While many of you appreciated this feature, we heard from you that you'd like the ability to choose which links are opened in new tabs. We listened: you can now open a single feed item in a new tab by holding Shift before clicking.
* If you are a mouse hater, we now provide mouse-less sharing. Use the keyboard shortcut Alt+s to open the share drop down, and use the arrows and enter key to select your category.
* The hover widget for an embedded icon is now cleaner, with a defined width, and intelligence to open on the correct side of the icon in order to stay within the page margins.
We hope you enjoy the latest enhancements!
